06.08.04: For those of you that didn't know already, you can purchase really good seats to Sarah's concerts through the Murmurs fan club. You have to be a member, but it's only $10 to join. (I am sorry I didn't post this sooner.)

05.05.04: Life has been very hard ever since my best friend passed away. Lisa's heart stopped beating at 1:06AM on April 2, 2004 from the complications of Thalassemia. She was only 34 years old. Even now, a month after she passed, it is still hard to believe she is really gone. She was always there, always at my side - making me laugh or listening to me when I needed someone to talk to. Lisa and I became friends back in 1995 when we both realized that we liked Sarah McLachlan's music. Sarah's music brought us together and remained a part of our friendship throughout the years. Her music helped Lisa during the struggles that she went through with her illness. She would say that she wanted to listen to "Angel" when she died because she wanted to leave this world with Sarah's soothing voice singing in her ears. I hope that she did hear those peaceful lyrics in her head in the moments before she passed.

When Afterglow was released, Lisa was so happy. She said that she was so glad that she was still alive to hear Sarah's new album. Even though we were both optimistic at that time about her health, deep down, Lisa always feared that she would die too soon.

Lisa and I were going to go to the Sarah McLachlan concert in Buffalo, NY in August. Sarah's management was going to set up a meet and greet backstage for Lisa so that she could finally meet Sarah. After Lisa passed away, I gave the concert tickets to our neighbors for helping me out while I spent most of my days and nights at the hospital during the month of March.

This is the most difficult time of my life, but I know that Lisa is with me in spirit, helping me through it.

I am going to end this with an entry that Lisa wrote a few years ago in the Fan Submissions area about Sarah McLachlan:

I first heard of Sarah back in 1992 when I was reading my Prodigy Classic entertainment news. The person in the article mentioned that if you like Tori Amos, you will love Sarah McLachlan. So I decided to check out who she was. I picked up her latest release "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy". Little did I know at that time I would be buying my favorite CD of all time. I remember when I first heard Sarah's voice, it was unbelievable, one of a kind. The lyrics were amazing and to add to my amazement I found out she wrote her own songs and designed her own CD covers. As soon as I listened to Sarah's Fumbling CD I decided to buy all I could of her previous CD'S and single CD's. I bought everything!!!! I loved it all, but Fumbling was and always will be my favorite. I then asked the radio station to play her song Possession and they said "Who's Sarah Mclachlan?" I couldn't believe that she was around so long and wasn't noticed or even heard of. I then turned to the local alternative station and they played her songs when I requested them. I always checked MTV to see if they would play her video "Possession" but they wouldn't. Finally I saw it on a VH1 special on at 2 am in the morning. I spread the news and told everyone I could about Sarah, no one even heard of her back then. I truly find her an inspiration, she has helped me through so much. In 1993 my father died and soon after that I got a divorce. Her voice would sooth me and help me fall asleep late at night when I had a hard time getting rest and peace of mind. My father died of a rare inherited blood disorder called Thalassemia. I also suffer from this fatal blood disorder. My father died at the young age of 48, he was the oldest patient. Every night that I go to sleep, I fear death, and Sarah's songs have provided me an outlet. The song "Hold On" reminds me of what my father went through. How everyday we would pray that he would be okay, just to see him sleeping peaceful. He suffered for 2 weeks before he died. I turned to Sarah's music for relief. I then went to every concert I could, I even traveled to Canada. I live in Rochester, New York. Her concerts never sold out at the time and I was able to get first row tickets every time. Sarah's voice was even more incredible live!!! I was thrilled to see her and would have loved to meet her. I remember one time when I was waiting in the lobby before a concert and Ashwin Sood was in the crowd talking with people. This was long before people new who Sarah was. My friend, Mary, went with me not even knowing any of Sarah's songs or who Sarah was for that matter. After she was done listening to the concert, she bought the CD. I'm so glad that Sarah is now out there, and everyone knows who she is. She has come a long way and deserves to be in the limelight(but geesh I can't get front row tickets anymore!!!!! =) ) She's still my favorite artist to this day. At a concert last year, I was able to get the autographs of all the band members except for Sarah or Ashwin. They left earlier than the others. I hope someday in my lifetime I will be able to meet Sarah in person. I truly admire her for her for her voice, songwriting, artistic talent, for donating so much to charity and most of all helping me deal with all the hard times in my life. She also made an impression on me back in 1992,when I heard that she traveled to different countries to help out. She definitely is a positive role model. Sarah's lyrics mean so much to me. She let's us all in on what she feels about her life and the world around her. I guess that's all I want to say. I'm so glad I was able to hear Sarah back then and now. I would like to say just one more thing:

Thank you Sarah.

- Lisa Cammilleri (1970 - 2004)

01.12.04: My sincere apologies for the lack of updates for the past month. My best friend, Lisa Cammilleri, who suffers from Thalassemia, has been very sick since December, and I have been spending every moment of my spare time watching over her and taking care of her. I will not be able to update this site until this dark time in our life passes. :o( To read more about what is happening to Lisa, and if you want to help, please read this. For Sarah updates in the meantime, please visit the Sarahfan.com Fan Club or the official site. Once again, I am very sorry.

12.11.03: Here is a nice interview of Sarah by the Denver Post.

12.05.03: Great news! Sarah McLachlan has been nominated for a Grammy Award for 'Best Female Pop Vocal Performance'. Avril Lavigne, Dido, Kelly Clarkson, and Christina Aguilera have also been nominated in this category. The Grammy Awards will air on February 8th, 2004 at 8PM on CBS.

12.04.03: A fan by the name of Khanh just informed me that Sarah's performance to 1200 people in Portland, Oregan was beautiful. She performed Building a Mystery, Fallen, Push, Dirty Little Secret, Angel, and Ice Cream. BNL also perfomed, and Melissa Etheridge was a surprise guest. Thanks Khanh!

11.19.03: Sarah McLachlan will perform on Nick at Nite's Holiday Special on November 28, 2003 at 10:00pm.

11.15.03: Geesh. We lost our power from the wind storms here in NY and missed Sarah's appearances on Leno and Ellen. But I must say - losing power isn't all that bad! It was very peaceful. (Cold, but peaceful.) I hope you all got to see her perform! :o)

"Afterglow" is #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts! Thanks for the info Tim P.!

11.04.03: Sarah's album hit stores today! Lisa picked a CD up for me and then called me as she was listening to it to tease me. lol. I couldn't wait to get off of work to listen to it! I love the new album. It's just like the Sarah I remember when I first started listening to her music in 1993.

The New York Times has a very nice article about Sarah. Thanks Jennifer! (You have to be a registered user to view it, but it's free to register.)

11.10.03: The Oxygen concert was amazing. I especially enjoyed the song that Sarah wrote for Ash (Push). You can tell just how true their love is for each other. It is such a beautiful song. It was nice to see her perform "Angel" too. Hope you all got to watch it!

According to the official site, Sarah is supposed to be on Breakfast with the Arts this morning on A&E, but today's listings don't even show that the program is on today, and searching the site didn't work either. If anyone has any information about this, please let me know.

11.08.03: A fan just corrected me on the information I posted yesterday about the Barnes and Noble appearance. Sarah will be signing at Barnes & Noble today, and you had to purchase tickets in advance. Thanks for clearing that up Jennifer G.! 11.06.03: What a week - I had to disinfect my computer of trojan horses and spyware that were placed onto my computer by sneaky bad people, and now I have to change my email address due to unrealistic amounts of junk mail. It was so tainted with spam that I had to delete it and create a new one. My new email address is arohner@sarahfan.com. Please email me at this address from now on. Thanks!

11.05.03: Background music? I didn't care for Ernesto's Afterglow review at Rolling Stone, but I really enjoyed the review written by Kirsten Odegard. Kirsten really knows how to put our feelings about Sarah's music into words. This is why I love Sarah fans - because we all see so much more in what some may call background music.

11.05.03: Make sure you look at Sarah's media appearances. She's all over the place in November. She's on Live with Regis and Kelly this morning, and on the Today show on Friday the 7th. And you can't miss the Oxygen Concert on Sunday the 9th at 9PM!

Sarah performs at Launch.com. The Launch show features an interview and 3 performances.

Sarah will be performing at the Jingle Jam 2003 with the Barenaked Ladies, Jessica Simpson, and more.

11.04.03: Sarah's album hit stores today! Lisa picked a CD up for me and then called me as she was listening to it to tease me. lol. I couldn't wait to get off of work! I love the new album so much. Just like the Sarah I remember when I first started listening to her music in 1993.

I will be adding new pictures to the gallery and the new lyrics soon. If anyone has the lyrics to certain songs from Afterglow already typed, let me know, and I will post them. Thanks!

Oh, and in case you didn't notice, I also launched the new design of Sarahfan.com today. Please let me know if there are any bugs or problems. Thanks! ;o)

I have only been able to work on it for a few hours each week since I have been so busy, and since I don't like spending too much time on the computer when I'm at home. But look out for new stuff within the next few weeks! ;o)

8.30.03: Wow. Lots of fans have been emailing me with lots of good information! Here are the latest "Fallen" resources...

1. Listen to "Fallen"
2. Read the lyrics to "Fallen"
3. Look at the "Fallen" album cover.

Some fans have heard that the album will be out November 4th. You can reserve a copy of the album at your local Sam Goody.

Thanks to fans, David M., Elizabeth H., Kristi R., Noor A., Ryan W., Becca M., Michael, Antonio C., Kelli C., Amber A., Annette H., and many others for keeping me informed with the latest news to post!

8.28.03: Nettwerk just confirmed that Sarah's single, "Fallen," will be playing on radio stations on September 1st. Make sure you request her song to your local stations! Also, Sarah's new album will be released in North America in November, but an exact date has not been officially released by Nettwerk...

And!...[Drumroll]...

Sarah will be touring in 2004 to support her new album. Yay! (Details to be announced.)

8.25.03: Sarah's new single, called "Fallen", is expected be released on September 1st to radio stations. This information was also found here. Thanks for the info Annette and Amber! Many fans have also stated in emails to me that her album is due to be released on November 4, 2003, but this is not official. I will let you know when I receive the official word.

07.25.03: A fan just informed me that Sarah's album should be out in November of 2003. The music store, SamGoody, gave her this information when she was there recently. Thanks Ashley!

07.23.03: A dedicated fan named Amanda just sent me a link to the radio station in Vancouver that has been playing Sarah and Run DMC's Cat's in the Cradle cover. If you want to try to catch this song on the air, you can listen to the station live online at their web site, Z95.com. Thanks Amanda! :o)

07.20.03: Sarah recently teamed up with Run DMC to perform a cover of Cats in the Cradle. They have been playing the song on the radio in Vancouver. Unfortunately, I don't if we can hear a sample of this song online yet, so if anyone finds out, let me know, and I will link it up. Thanks to Aaron of Vancouver for this Sarah update!

06.29.03: During her recent Toronto concert, Sarah McLachlan announced that she has been working on her new album. (Thanks for the info Jason!) The album should be released in the fall, but that is all the information we have so far.

In the meantime, you should check out Evanescence. Now there's a lead singer with a voice similar to Sarah's, especially during certain songs. You may have heard one of her songs on the radio recently - "Bring Me To Life." They play it on alternative stations frequently here in New York. Imagine Sarah singing with Linkin Park. That's a good description I think. ;o) (Of course, no one has a voice better than Sarah's!)

05.29.03: Sarah McLachlan will be performing in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday, June 21st. Sarah and other artists, including Remy Shand and Glen Lewis, are performing at a benefit concert for the city. Tickets for the event go on sale via Ticketmaster Canada today. Thank you to Kristi A. and Melissa C. for the info!

05.15.03: My friend Lisa was in the hospital last weekend due to heart complications. :o( I watched her heart on the monitor for many hours - from the emergency room on Saturday, and then in the obsertavory on Sunday. Most of the time, she experienced frequent pvc's and irregular, fast beats, but when Sarah McLachlan's song, 'I Will Remember You' started playing on the hospital television, her heart seemed to relax. She closed her eyes and began mouthing the words to the song, smiling. I looked at her monitor. Her heart rate had dropped by 5 points, almost immediately. So there you have it - actual, medical proof that Sarah's music soothes the heart and the soul. ;o)

01.30.03: Please visit Sarah McLachlan's Music Outreach Program, and the foundation started by Nettwerk and VH1, Music for the Kids, to learn more about these wonderful organizations. A big thank you to Gretchen for informing me of these web sites! Thanks to all of the fans that help keep this site updated with new information. ;o)

01.27.03: This just in from Murmurs: We can expect Sarah's new album to be out in the fall of 2003. She will also be touring with the release of the album. Thanks to Noor for the info!

01.22.03: Still no word yet on Sarah's new album, but I will post the information when I get it. ;o)

12.05.02: Sarah McLachlan is on a new Christmas album this year singing "God Rest Ye Merry Gentelmen" with the Barenaked Ladies. Other artists on the album are Vanessa Carlton, Loreena McKennitt, Coldplay, and more.

12.04.02: Sarah McLachlan will be auctioning items at the Canadian benefit for Arists Against Racism. One of the items on Sarah's donatin list is her own pair of worn jeans. Too bad it's not the silver pants from the early 1990's! (Hehe.) ;op

11.20.02: Sarah McLachlan received a Pop Music honor by the Society Of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) on November 18th, 2002 at the 13th annual SOCAN awards.
