You Helped The Children
Helping Little Ady: About 2 years ago, my friend Lisa received an email from a man named
Cezar that lived in Romania who had found her Thalassemia web site. Cezar
and his wife had a little boy named Ady who has Thalassemia. Because of the
blood shortage in Romania and the poor medical care, little Ady cannot
receive the treatment that he needs. Little Ady will die if he is not able
to receive the treatments soon. Lisa and I have been corresponding with
Cezar by phone and email to help Cezar learn about the process of getting a
Visa and moving his family to the United States. But as it turns out, this
is much harder to do than we ever imagined. We even contacted Congresswoman
Louise Slaughter of New York, and although she was helpful in sending us
information, the information that we received wasn't what we had hoped for.
It is VERY hard to immigrate to the US from Romania. Almost impossible. But
we are not giving up. We are still trying to find a way to get them here.
But in the meantime, Lisa and I have become so attached to this little boy
Ady. His precious voice is so sweet and full of joy on the phone, and he
calls Lisa "Sisa". Every year, we send him Christmas presents. This year we
sent him all kinds of toys that he would not have been able to get in
Romania. He loves Scooby Doo. We sent him some Scooby Doo toys, HotWheels
cars, action figures, and a handful of other toys we thought he would enjoy.
Helping 3 Sweet Children: This Christmas, because of the purchases of $700 of Sarah McLachlan merchandise from the fans through my Sarahfan.com Amazon Store, we were able to help 3 children from the Salvation Army Angel trees. I put the $76 commission check toward gifts for these 3 children and for little Ady above. To see the names of each child and pictures of the toys that we gave them, please see the list below:
1. For Sylvia: She is 6 years old, and she wanted a Little People Play Set. When I saw this adorable Main Street Play Set, I just couldn't pass it up. I thought about how much I loved my Little People Play Sets when I was young, and wanted her to have the very best one.
2. For Lynn: She is 10 years old, and she wanted a Power Puff Girls toy. I got her this poseable Sittin' Pretty Deluxe Playset.
3. For Patrick: He is 7 years old, and he wanted dinosaurs. Lisa picked this one out for Patrick. This has lots of neat dinosaur figures in a bucket.
Thanks for purchasing from the Sarahfan.com store Sarah fans! You have put smiles on the faces of 4 children this year! :o) Thanks again!
