Just like many other Sarah fans out there, Sarah has touched my life in so many ways.I first became a fan in June of "97."I turned on VH1 and there she was singing "Building a Mystery" with her angelic voice.They were having a live show of Lilith Fair.Rig t away, I fell in love.The next month you can guess what I bought for my b-day gift.lol. Sarah McLachlan has helped me to get through my hardships: my mother's cheating, which lead to my parents divorice, my siblings & I getting abused by my step-father, y aunt passing away, and me coming out about my sexuality."Adia" had alot of meaning t me at first because my parents just went through a messy divorice & being young I felt like I was to blame for everything.Then, when my mother finally went back to her oyfriend and got married, he started abusing my siblings & I...So everynight as they both fought I would turn up "Angel" & cry myself to sleep.It almost felt like Sarah was there holding my hand, telling me that I wasn't the only person in this world with problems.She soothed me in an emotional way. As if things couldn't get any worse, my aunt Anita passed away of a long-time illness in Jan. "99", that made me open up & a few hours before she passed away I sang to her "I will Remember You," in the hospital to her, while I held her innocent hand(i died then also at that moment).I really felt that connection that I cannot now explain.Then when things perked up a bit I sang "Angel" at my father's wedding for him, which was my first time to see my father cry. I found your site to be one of the best out there. I don't really buy a whole lot of CD's, but I decided one day after hearing Sarah on the radio that I needed to get one of hers. I have liked her music for awhile, and I don't believe that there is a son of hers that I don't like. So, I buy Surfacing and oh my god, I'm like awe struck now. She has made a huge impact on me. It's not like her music is somehow connected to my life, or I have had an experience that one of her songs ties into, I just plain l ve listening to her sing! I find her to be a brilliant songwriter with an incredibly beautiful voice. A couple of years ago I had the chance to go to Lilith Fair, and some things happend where I didn't get to, and I have regretted it ever since. I listen to her cd, on average, three times a day, and I never get tired of it. She has indeed impacted me, and I am very thankful for that. Well if you would've asked me 5 years ago about Sarah McLachlan I would've have been like yeah she's ok. I like a few of her songs. Then I went to the 2nd tour of Lilith Fair and saw her in concert. My life has never been the same since. To this day s e is the best performer I've ever heard live and she will always be that way because she is hella talented. I listen to her nonstop. I own all the cds, posters, videos, the cookbook, and a t-shirt. Her music means so much to me and I couldn't live with ut it. I even baked cookies to celebrate her birthday. She is the most beautiful and talented woman on the earth in my book. What can I say? I love her!!!
